As a counsellor, James provides clinical service in the areas of anger, stress and anxiety, depression, relationship repair and management, addictions, communication issues, domestic violence, family conflict, trauma and grief/loss.
In terms of treatment, James takes a diverse approach to client counselling drawing on modalities such as anger management, Attachment Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
James holds a BA (Psychology/Criminology), MA (Social Psychology), and PhD (Social Psychology) from Simon Fraser University. He is a Registered Professional Counsellor (RPC) and works with youth, adults, couples, families, and groups to provide a range of mental health services at Walmsley & Associates in Quesnel.
James also works with LGBTQ2 individuals and has experience working with gay, non-binary, and trans youth.
James is available to see clients on Monday evenings.
