Jayeson Shaffer
Jayeson has a variety of counselling skills and a wide range of experience from working in remote northern communities since 1992. He has expertise in substance abuse/ addictive behaviour/ACOA (Adult Children of Alcoholics) issues, anger management, and developmental disabilities. As well, Jayeson has proficiency in mental health issues such as mood disorders, including depression and anxiety issues, stress management - both personal and workplace, family relationship issues, including marriage, divorce, separation issues, or marriage enhancement. Jayeson also offers personal, business, or executive coaching under "Empowered Living: Life Coaching" through Walmsley and Associates.
Jayeson has worked in complementary health care with a special focus on stress management and pain reduction techniques. Jayeson has facilitated groups on substance abuse recovery, Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACOA), Parenting Skills, Spousal Abuse Prevention, and Laughter and Stress Reduction Workshops.
Jayeson obtained a Bachelor of Social Work in 1992. He has his Master of Education (MEd) in Educational Counselling from the University of Northern British Columbia.
Coaching
Jayeson has completed the Foundational Training from the Institute for Life Coach Training (2003). He is available to provide coaching services to individuals on request. Please contact our reception office to discuss with Jayeson your goals for coaching.
Limitations
Jayeson is presently taking new clients in Coquitlam and can offer a flexible schedule, Monday through Saturday. However he cannot work with individuals involved with programming through the Fraser Health Authority with Concurrent Disorders.
