Maxine Gibson

 Maxine has extensive experience working with individuals, children and families in a variety of settings.   She employs a caring, respectful and holistic approach to promote healing and growth.  Areas of clinical interest include grief/loss, anxiety, stress, anger management and addiction.  Maxine is experienced in exploring workplace issues such as burn-out, vicarious trauma and employee wellness and self-care.  She has a certificate in Critical Incident Stress Management. 

 Maxine holds a Social Work Diploma from Red Deer College, Red Deer, Alberta and both a Bachelor of Social Work degree and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Victoria, Victoria, BC.  She is currently involved in social work education and has experience teaching at the School of Social Work, University of Victoria.   Maxine is a member of the British Columbia Association of Social Workers.
