Marie Jose Dhaese

Marie Jose DhaeseMarie Jose has been working in the counselling field since 1970.  She has extensive experience providing counselling and psychotherapy  with both adults and children .  Marie Jose has a Masters of Education degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia.  She also holds a Doctorate degree in Expressive Therapy from the National Institute of Expressive Therapy.

Marie Jose works with adults, children and families, using art, play, sandplay, and other expressive therapies, verbal counselling and EMDR.  Her specialty areas include grief and loss, separation and divorce, life transitions, accidents, illness and hospitalization, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse, and stress in the workplace.

Marie Jose also supervises therapists, counsellors, and psychologists (groups and individuals). She is a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor approved by the Association for Play Therapy.  She conducts expressive arts therapy groups for therapists and provides intensive seminars, workshops, and presentations on expressive play therapy methods.  She has conducted workshops and presentations throughout Canada and the USA.
