Kathryn Baverstock
Kathryn has been a practicing Social Worker since 1984. She graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Western Ontario (1984), and then with a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Windsor Ontario (1991). Her primary experience has been in the field of addictions and mental health. Kathryn has a Child Sexual Abuse certificate and the Adventure Based Learning certificate from the Justice Institute of BC, along with other continuing education courses. She uses a solution-focused and strength- based approach in her counselling. She works with individuals, couples, and families. She always works collaboratively with her clients to help them meet their goals.
Kathryn moved to Fort St. John from Ontario in August 1999. She has also lived in Newfoundland, working as a sole charge Social Worker at a small hospital. Kathryn enjoys being active and creative. She has been practicing yoga since 2001 and uses that as a primary self-care tool. Sometimes yoga creeps into her work in the form of breathing techniques or stretches. She and her husband enjoy exploring the area, hiking, walking the dog and just relaxing.
